How to test your right click speed
Pick a test length and right-click in the box. The timer starts with your first right click. Left clicks do not count on this page, so you can practise the right button on its own.
Right click speed matters in games where the right button builds, blocks or fires a second weapon. Most people click a little slower with the right button, because the middle finger is weaker and less trained than the index finger.
What is a good CPS score?
| CPS | Level | Typical technique |
|---|---|---|
| Under 5 | Relaxed | Regular clicking without trying hard |
| 5 to 8 | Average | Regular clicking at full effort |
| 8 to 11 | Fast | Very fast regular clicking |
| 11 to 15 | Very fast | Jitter clicking |
| Over 15 | Extreme | Butterfly or drag clicking |
These ranges are rough guides gathered from click test players, not lab measurements. Your score also depends on the mouse: a light switch with short travel is easier to click fast than a heavy one.
Tips for faster right clicking
- Keep your middle finger resting on the button, so it never lifts off.
- Try jitter clicking with the middle finger, or butterfly clicking with middle and ring finger.
- If right clicks seem to go missing, check the button in the mouse test.
Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions people ask most about this test.
How do I do a right click CPS test?
Pick a duration and right-click in the box as fast as you can. Your right clicks per second appear when the time is up.
Why is my right click slower than my left click?
Most people use the middle finger for right click, which is less practised. A score 1 or 2 CPS lower than your left click is normal.
Does the context menu interfere?
No. The page blocks the context menu inside the click box, so every right click is counted.
