Mouse tests

Test the buttons and scroll wheel, catch a mouse that double clicks on its own, and measure DPI, polling rate and click speed.

Which mouse test do you need?

  • A button or the scroll wheel acts up: start with the mouse test. It shows every button and counts scroll steps both ways.
  • Single clicks open things twice, or drags let go: the double click test catches presses that come too close together.
  • You want to know your real sensitivity: the DPI analyzer measures counts per inch, and the polling rate test shows how often the mouse reports.
  • You want to test your speed: try the CPS test or the right click CPS test.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers to common questions about these tests.

How do I know if my mouse is double clicking?

Use the double click test. It flags two presses that arrive faster than a finger can click, which points to a worn switch.

Can a website measure mouse DPI?

Yes, with a ruler. You move the mouse a known distance and the page counts the movement it receives. Chrome and Edge can read the raw counts, other browsers include your pointer speed setting.
